Every week on a Sunday, a new photo is used as a prompt for Flash Fiction challenge using around 200 words based on that image. Your story does not have to be exactly what the item in the photo is as long as there is at least a reference to it. You can make it anything you want, and enjoy what you write, and we will as well.
Please remember to add your piece to the list of others by clicking on the little creature, and you can also add the creature to your own post by clicking on the link beneath it. Have fun, and I look forward to reading what you have written.
The little creature comes and goes from the bottom of the post. Now you see him, now you don’t
I waited at the landing; staircase going up; staircase going down. I wondered who would show first. Just as the grandfather clock downstairs started to struck midnight, St. Peter made himself comfortable on the last two steps of the staircase leading up. Not to be outdone, Satan made his appearance at the stroke of 12, and settled in on the top two steps of the down staircase.
There was a slight smell of brimstone emanating from Satan, and the aromas from heaven wafting around St. Peter. Surprisingly, not a bad mix. “Good evening, gentlemen, I’m glad you both could attend.”
Both nodded towards me, and glared at each other. “Does he have to be here?” they asked in unison. “Surely our discussion can take place without him.”
“No,” I replied, “there has to be balance. Besides you each need each other.” St. Peter and Satan looked shocked and appalled at the suggestion. And couldn’t quickly enough say the idea was preposterous, and questioned their appearance on my behest.
I shrugged it off. “I can destroy Earth with a snap of my fingers. Eartherains have this obsession with good and evil. Why not go to the source, and have a friendly discussion on whether I should or shouldn’t blow Earth into teeny, tiny little pieces. Now, who wants to go first?”
